The VIPER upgrade project is scheduled to be completed in March 2018. Further evaluation of solutions needed for continuity of operations will be evaluated once this upgrade has been completed.

A contract was signed with ATT in June 2017 to upgrade the VIPER system that manages 911 calls. A kick-off meeting for this project is expected to be scheduled in July 2017. The implementation of the VIPER upgrade will further dictate solutions for continuity of operations at the backup e911 Center. Anticipate these plans will be formulated in the 3rd quarter 2017.

This project has been on-hond pending SCMPD/IT to finalize best solution for continuity of operations at the backup e911 Center. We have resumed discussions with vendors to determine the best solution and will develop plan and schedule.
