Since the 1st Quarter 2019, Coastal Heritage Society (CHS) has been managing the design contract for the preparation of bid documents for the construction of a concrete retaining wall, preparation and installation of an interior floor, development of restrooms, storage room and office area, and installation of steel window sashes. It is anticipated the construction phase of the project will be let through the City's procurement process by the 4th Quarter 2019.

In the 1st Quarter 2019, CHS moved forward with the design contract to prepare bid documents for the construction of a concrete retaining wall, preparation and installation of an interior floor, development of restrooms, storage room and office area, and installation of steel window sashes. In the 4th Quarter 2018, City Council approved an amendment to the design contract from 2007 to update pricing and prepare bid documents for the project. It is anticipated the construction phase of the project will be let through the City's procurement process by the 2nd Quarter 2019.

The scope of the original design, completed in 2007, must be updated and bid documents prepared. CHS has obtained updated pricing for these items from the architect and will present a proposed amendment to the original design contract which City Council will need to approve in the 4th Quarter 2018. It is anticipated the construction phase of the project will be let through the City's procurement process by the 2nd Quarter 2019.

The scope of the original design completed in 2007 must be updated and bid documents prepared. CHS is working with the architect on record to obtain updated pricing for these items. This will result in an amendment to the original design contract which City Council will need to approve in the 3rd Quarter of 2018. On November 9, 2018, the SPLOST 6 Agreement with Coastal Heritage Society was approved by City Council in the amount of $1.5 million for capital improvements to the Children's Museum. Funds will be used to support the construction of a concrete retaining wall, preparation and installation of an interior floor, development of restrooms, storage room and office area, and installation of steel window sashes.

The agreement has been developed. As part of the document, Coastal Heritage Society (CHS) is finalizing the list of projects to support the Children's Museum improvements.

The City is currently developing an agreement for CHS to utilize the $1.5 million in SPLOST funding for the implementation of improvements to the Children's Museum.

CHS will be using the funds for the retaining wall, restrooms and other minor infrastructure to support Children's Museum expansion. Exhibits and remaining infrastructure will be supported by a $16 million capital campaign lead by CHS.
